By using safe-seniors.com (the “Website”), taking part in the SAFE program or making a donation, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
SAFE foundation respects your privacy. We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes, and we never will. We collect only what we need, and we use it only for the reasons described below.
Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual. Examples are your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and donation history.
When you visit the Website: we do not ask for any personal information to use the SAFE exercise program. We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data, such as the number of visitors, how they found the Website and which pages they viewed. This helps us improve the program and report our reach to funders. It does not identify you personally.
When you donate: we collect your name, email address, mailing address, donation amount, date and frequency (one-time or monthly). If you choose, we also collect a tribute or “in memory of” dedication.
When you contact us: we collect the information you choose to send, such as your name, email address and message.
We use donor information only to:
Your information is not used for third-party marketing, not added to shared or purchased mailing lists, and not exchanged with other charities.
Online donations are processed by Stripe, a secure payment processor that meets PCI-DSS Level 1 standards. SAFE foundation never receives or stores your full credit card number. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
Only authorized SAFE staff and volunteers who need your information for the purposes above can access it. We share information only with:
Some of these providers may store data outside Québec, including in the United States. Before doing so, we assess whether the information will be adequately protected, as required by Québec law.
We may share anonymous, aggregated statistics with funders and partners, such as total visitors or program reach. These statistics never identify an individual participant or donor. We will not name a donor publicly without their permission.
We keep donation records only as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally six (6) years. After that, we securely destroy or anonymize them.
We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information from loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. These include access controls, encrypted connections and two-factor authentication on our systems. If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, as required by law.

Donations support Fondation SAFE’s charitable mission to improve the health, mobility and independence of older adults through free exercise and fall prevention programs. Unless a donation is made for a specific purpose that we have accepted, we direct it to where the need is greatest.
We issue an official tax receipt for every eligible donation, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements. Receipts are sent by email, in the name and to the address you provide, so please make sure your information is correct. For monthly donors, we issue one consolidated annual receipt by February 28 of the following year. When a donor receives something in return, such as a gala dinner, the receipt amount is reduced by the fair market value of that benefit, as the CRA requires.
You can change, pause or cancel a monthly donation at any time by emailing [info@safe-seniors.com]. Changes take effect before the next scheduled payment if we receive them at least [5] business days in advance.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you made an error, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate transaction, please contact us within 30 days and we will review your request. If a refund is issued, the related tax receipt is cancelled.
SAFE foundation follows the principles of the Donor Bill of Rights. You have the right to know how your donation is used, to receive accurate information about our mission and governance, to have your privacy respected, and to have your questions answered promptly and honestly.
If you would like your donation to remain anonymous in any public acknowledgement, just tell us. A tax receipt can still be issued in your name.
The SAFE program and all content on the Website are for educational and informational purposes only. They do not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
The exercises shown on safe-seniors.com are gentle, and you can stop or pause at any time. For these reasons, SAFE foundation does not consider it necessary to consult a physician before starting the SAFE program. You may still choose to do so at your own discretion.
Stop right away and seek medical help if you feel pain, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, dizziness or any unusual symptom. Use a stable chair or support as shown, exercise in a clear space, and never exercise beyond your comfort level.
Taking part in the SAFE program is voluntary. It involves physical exercise and recommendations about lifestyle, nutrition and general wellness. You take part at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SAFE foundation, its directors, employees, volunteers and partners are not liable for any injury, illness, damage or loss resulting from your use of the program or the Website.
Results vary from person to person, depending on health, physical condition, experience and motivation. We cannot guarantee any specific result.
All content on the Website, including videos, text, images and program materials, belongs to Fondation SAFE or is used with permission. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any other copying, distribution or commercial use requires our written permission.
The Website may link to other websites, such as Stripe or Google. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date will always show the current version.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
